Coming Together As One
No man is an island. In order to survive and succeed, people need to rely or interact with other people. The concept of coming together as one means unity or willingness to join forces with others to work as a team in order to achieve something. The formula to success can be taken from Henry Ford’s quote that reads: “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.”
Success or failure is based on the strength and unity of a group or team. In coming together as one, people should be prepared, organized and even provided with the support needed so that the probability of a letdown will be notably low.
Coming together as one requires respect shown to other people in order to receive one in return and a smooth flow of communication between individuals. These things can strengthen the union of a group and function properly.
No person can complete a job alone because at some point, help will be asked in accomplishing a task. According to a general observation, the result appears to be much better when people come together as one and work as a team compared to an individual work.
A group’s environment that encourages respectful communication and sharing of opinions will certainly attract the people to engage and contribute for the benefit of everyone involved. It really sounds appealing because you do not have to worry or be afraid about sounding silly or mistaken when you share your thoughts.
You should allow other people to speak up without interrupting their input even though it is completely different from your own since you will be also be given ample time to voice out your opinions. An optimistic and sincere communication aids the team to be focused on searching for solutions instead of creating more problems.
Furthermore, it becomes a bonding activity for every person involved in getting to know each other better. Teamwork and brainstorming can discover solutions that one individual may not have come up alone with shared insights, fresh ideas, experience and knowledge.
Conflicts will inevitably arise but you are endowed with the capability to carefully manage arguments and turn the situation into an optimistic one. Support builds a strong team that even though dispute arise, people still professionally deal with the issues and work well together towards the path of success.
Absence of respect, open communication and support will only create a mocking union in people where they become discouraged or even pessimistic about the whole thing. Impractical expectations as well as undefined roles usually impair the unity, strength and function of a group.
A team can achieve their goals when the members are constantly motivated, updated and valued for their work and contribution especially when they feel that they are really an important part of the group. After the foundation of a good team has been established, you should be encouraged to maintain the idea of coming together as one and continue the flow of positive thinking for the team to attain success.
