Girl power
is back. While Irish group Westlife members decided to go on their separate
ways, British pop sensation Spice Girls reunite to announce the details of a
musical to be launched in London. The said musical is based on their hit songs
and the storyline is based on their fame and the tale of a female friendship.
For the first time, the girl group reunited after four years since their
2007-2008 reunion tour. Geri Halliwell,
also known as “Ginger Spice,” famously left the group with bitterness in 1998
and then the group eventually split up. The five members of the Spice Girls
have not appeared publicly together until now. These girls are very excited for
the upcoming new musical which will be based on their experiences while
featuring their biggest hit songs.
Numerous
speculations about the musical show and the non-stopping conflicts between the
Spice Girls members have been circulating for months. However, the famous
members of the group namely Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton,
Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown made a public appearance showing their
support for the musical launch.
According to
The Associated Press reports, the “Viva Forever” musical revives the music of
the girl powered group in the 90s. It simply tells a story of four good friends
whose closeness with one another is put to the test when they become a part of
a television talent show. The Spice Girls admitted that they were really
delighted with the upcoming show. “Viva Forever” will be produced by Judy
Craymer and she is none other than the woman behind the success of the ABBA
musical film “Mamma Mia.”
"It's
better than we could ever have imagined," said Melanie Chisholm, also
known as “Sporty Spice.” The musical show is written by comedienne Jennifer Saunders, who
co-created the TV sitcom "Absolutely Fabulous." Meanwhile, Victoria
Beckham said that the show would totally introduce a new meaning to Girl Power.
"Viva Forever" will have its preview this November and the musical will
finally have its grand opening at London’s Piccadilly Theater in December.
