Kylie Minogue Poked Fun at Madonna For Wearing a Cheerleader Outfit

Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue is apparently baffled with singer Madonna’s inappropriate choices when it comes to her outfits. Minogue gave the 53-year old Madonna a swipe regarding her outrageous cheerleader outfit that she wore on stage during her MDNA world tour. It is quite ironic that this kind of criticism comes from Minogue who wears a black dress that is revealing in a web-like manner in her latest single’s music video “Timebomb.”

Minogue appeared on the American chat show “Fashion Police” with hosts Kelly Osbourne and comedienne Joan Rivers. Her reaction and comment about Madonna dressing too young came after some prompting from the TV hosts. Minogue was shown by Rivers a picture of Madonna wearing the cheerleader outfit and the singer was asked what her opinion was about it. "No - just no," Minogue said after groaning. Meanwhile, Rivers picked up on Kylie’s tone and made a snotty comment herself. "Madonna, stop it already, you're 108. Madonna as a cheerleader? What school does she go to? Our Lady of Osteoporosis? She looks like she flunked 10th grade 48 times," Rivers said. 

Then, Rivers asked Minogue about her opinion in another incident where Madonna flashed her breast while performing on stage. "Was she caught up in the moment? Was it premeditated? Who knows?" Minogue said. "I think it's got people more perplexed than excited by it,” the Australian singer further added. Rivers also took the liberty to discuss the undeniable competition between Madonna and Kylie Minogue. "Competition. I don't know, but I grew up such a fan of her," Minogue said. "I don't even care how we're in the same sentence. It's quite good for me," she added.

These two stars already have a long rivalry history. It can be recalled that back then in 2000, Madonna was wearing a shirt with the emblazoned words “Kylie Minogue” while performing at an awards show. In 2010, it was Minogue’s turn to attack by putting out her publicity shots in a conical bra by Jean-Paul Gaultier which was the kind of bra that made Madonna famous during her days in 1990.

Kylie Minogue is currently in the United States promoting her latest single “Timebomb” which marks her as a remarkable artist in the music industry for 25 years.
